ANNALEE SKARIN

AN AMERICAN MYSTIC

IMPRESSIONS

I have been a devotee of Annalee Skarin since the seventies.  I read all her books and then read them over and over.  I let the reading go for some years and then returned once again to re-read.  At that time, I decided to learn as much as I could regarding Annalee's life.  Unfortunately, there was little to glean from the internet at that time. Most of the postings were simply rehashed quotes from a few individuals.  I researched the only published magazine articles available.  I was surprised at the scant amount of material I found.  I was very much disgusted with what Annalee's daughter, Hope Hilton, had to say about her own mother.  In fact, I was amazed!

The time came, in spirit, when I promised Annalee that I would do what I could to counteract the negative materials available regarding her writings and life.  Although my work is amateurish, my loving thoughts and emotions are so very genuine.  This is what I hope will shine through on these web pages.  To enhance my efforts, I do invite interested persons to add to the web site with comments and dialogue.  (Postings)

What are those familiar axioms?  The greatest human contributors are appreciated only after their deaths and these great individualities often are not taken seriously in their own home environment.  These statements truly define Annalee and her mission.

Annalee was devoutly spiritual, practicing Mormonism with all her heart, soul and mind.  She was married to a man she could not truly love but respected enough to stay with him for some time.  She loved her dearest daughters as much as any mother could love.  She volunteered her spare time to help those in need.  She was open in her thinking and embraced human diversity.

Annalee was not unlike you and me.  She came from a humble middle-class standing.  Her mother was Mormon and her Jewish father was a convert.

Annalee had the gift of writing from early age and somehow knew that this talent would be put to spiritual use.  She never dreamed that her love for God and living-kind would be rebuked and scorned by the very people she thought would understand her commitment.  Painfully, she learned that those she esteemed and thought to be the doorway to greater truths were indeed the gatekeepers of expressed Truths.  Although her soul nearly was shattered by profound disappointments, she did not falter but continued to express her esoteric mysticism.

Annalee Skarin went on to become one of America's greatest mystics.  She asked nothing for herself.  Emphatically, she stated not to trust her written word, but to read the books and individually ask God: "Do these words speak the truth?"  She puts that responsibility back in our court of judgment.

After the publication of Ye Are Gods, Annalee's daughter, Hope Hilton, and her husband, Mr. Hilton, initiated an investigation by the Mormon Church powers regarding the so called blasphemy expressed by Annalee in her book, Ye Are Gods.  Without the ability to protect herself and her work, Annalee Skarin was excommunicated from her beloved Mormon Church.  One can only imagine how horrific this event must have been for America's great mystic.  Although the Mormon Church does not document excommunications, Annalee talked some about the event sharing her humiliation with readers here and there in some of her writings.  She obviously was shocked that the Mormon leaders would find her work anything but a creation of love, gratitude and praise.  To truly add insult to injury, the Mormon Church totally and absolutely reinstated Annalee's membership in the Mormon Church after Annalee's death.  However, this was to the advantage of the very daughter who had her mother excommunicated. Hope Hilton needed her mother back in good Mormon standing in order to secure for herself, husband and children a place within the lineage of saved souls.

One can only speculate about some of the decisions made by Annalee and her second husband, Reason.   Reason's retirement package from a law enforcement career was only a short time from implementation when he and Annalee went into hiding.  Annalee changed her name to Nansela Matthews.  They moved to California and lived a modest life.  Annalee continued her writing.

One can read Mrs. Hope Hilton's rationale for her cruel behavior toward her mother; and also, one can read Annalee's younger daughter's, Linda Lee Moat,  rebuttal to her older sister's unfounded accusations regarding their mother's character and sincerity.  Biography

ANNALEE'S MESSAGE

The promises:  Annalee accepted the Christ's promises not only as Truths but Truths that are demonstratable.  Christ Jesus did promise us all that we would be able to do what He did but even greater deeds in our futures.  For those followers getting caught-up in Annalee's teachings regarding translation of the physical body, they often miss the deeper esoteric meaning of the great, imparted Knowledge.

Seekers will benefit from reading Ye Are Gods and all the other books before drawing conclusions.  Annalee gained her extrasensory perceptions through love, praise and gratitude.  She knew that true Knowledge transforms into Love.  And, Love conquers all -freeing the soul to evolve and develop into the higher consciousness needed for successful evolution.

Whether or not Annalee physically translated rather than dying the way the rest of us will is something that you and I will never know for sure.  Remember that the Mormon Church and Annalee's older daughter, Hope Hilton, worked very hard at discrediting Annalee Skarin's character and her works.  We are told that Reason, her husband, died as a pauper and Annalee died penniless suffering from dementia.  Just because this is what we have been told, does not mean it is fact.  Nevertheless, whether the information is fact or fiction, we loose the spiritual significance of Annalee's message if we dismiss her based on the lack of proof of physical translation.

One may ask the question:  Why was Annalee post-mortally reinstated to the Mormon Church after being excommunicated?  Did she withdraw her books, her messages, her beliefs?  No, she never wavered.  Skarin's work was banned by the Mormon Church and her story was buried.  However, life exists outside the church and for this we are very thankful.

We extend our gratitude to DeVorss book publisher for continuing to make Annalee's books available.  We know that the company is blessed for their spiritual contribution.  Annalee never asked for royalties.  She understood that Christ's gifts to humankind must be given freely.

Annalee Skarin promises us that our physical body can be spiritualized.  It will happen when we truly internalize our love for God, living-kind and ourselves.  We can accomplish this through love, gratitude and praise.  Sounds simplistic, does it not?  Read the books with a quiet spirit and an open mind.  Ask your higher self if these works are true and you will know beyond all doubts.

Criticism is useless coming from those individuals who have not read and studied Annalee Skarin's books.  That being said, I openly welcome your comments on this most important subject and this most significant American Mystic.

Warmest regards,

Sonia Easley
